TRIBUTE TO THE LATE MAJOR GENERAL FRANCIS VIB-SANZIRI BY THE PERMANENT MISSION OF GHANA TO THE UNITED NATIONS.

Major General Francis Vib- Sanziri reviews the FRC Parade

The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations is grieved by the death of Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri.

Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri before his death was appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres on October 13, 2017 as the Head of Mission and Force Commander of  United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

The Major General had a sterling and distinguished military career in Ghana and at the international level.

He had served as the Director-General of the Department of International Peace Support Operations at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces, Assistant Director Department of Operations, Ghana Army Headquarters, Deputy Commander of the Ghana Military Academy and other key appointments in the Ghana Armed Forces.

Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri has extensive international peacekeeping experience, having served with United Nations peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Rwanda, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri is survived by his wife, Beatrice Vib-Sanziri and two daughters.

The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations recognizes the distinguished contributions made by Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri to world peace and extends its condolences to the United Nations, the Republic of Ghana and the late General’s family.
